Having experienced a number of serious safety incidents, Tronox, a leading a Global mining and mineral processing company initiated a 4 year operational and safety improvement strategy to deliver on their vision of safe, quality, low cost, sustainable tonnes. A central pillar in their SHE strategy was to enhance the capabilities of their SHEQ Professionals as well as the operational safety capabilities of their frontline leaders.
Solution
They partnered with Safety Futures and over a 2 year period more than 300 leaders have participated in either the Safety Futures ASPP or E7 Partner SLSM programs. Nearing the end of the initial capability enhancement efforts, the organisation is experiencing their best ever safety and operational performance at sites that have had a critical mass of leaders through the program. Other benefits include a strengthening in the relationships, partnering and alignment between the SHEQ and the operational parts of the company.
