Case Studies

Tronox

A multinational vertically-integrated mining, processing and chemical manufacturing business wanted to understand their organizational capacities to guide, enable and execute work towards safe outcomes. Through a Forge Works partnership, interviews were conducted at 16 operational locations, across six continents and using four languages, and safety management documentation and practices were reviewed. Forge Works assessed the company’s capacities for resilient management and codesigned safety improvement strategies for the organization broadly and for each operating unit specifically.

Serco AsPac

A global organization that supports governments around the world in the delivery of essential public services wanted to understand their organizational capacities to guide, enable and execute work towards safe outcomes across each of their unique contracts. Through a Forge Works partnership, our consultants conducted a series of targeted senior leadership interviews, assessed the established safety management system and deployed the ‘Safety of Work Survey‘ across the respective contracts. Forge Works were able to to provide the company a data driven position on the Forge Work Map which later enabled an effective strategy to be developed.

A state transport and roads agency wanted to assess the safety climate and understand their organizational capacities to guide, enable and execute work towards safe outcome in each its subsidiary agencies. Through a Forge Works partnership, our consultants engaged with senior leaders, reviewed safety management system artefacts and facilitated focus group workshops with a broad cross-section of the agencies to assess safety climate and management maturity against the Forge Works Map, identify opportunities for improvement and codesign safety improvement strategies.

A diversified motoring and mutual member-owned organization, specializing in road-side assistance, banking and insurance services wanted to understand their organizational capacities to guide, enable and execute work towards safe outcomes across their portfolio. HSV

A newly established independent public sector provider of supply chain, procurement and corporate services to state public health services wanted to align their board and executive team on a vision and strategic objectives for managing health and safety risks in their operations. Through a Forge Works partnership, an executive consultant was deployed to conduct one-on-one discussion with key stakeholders and facilitate an executive workshop to create alignment on a vision, priorities and responsibilities for safety, and to agree on a primary strategic safety improvement objective and the associated stakeholder perspectives.

Newcrest Mining

One of the world’s largest gold mining companies, with mines in four countries, wanted to understand their organizational capacities to guide, enable and execute work towards safe and productive outcomes at their most-productive site. Through a Forge Works partnership, our consultants conducted a series of targeted senior leadership interviews, assessed the established safety management system, deployed the ‘Safety of Work Survey‘ across the site and conducted focus groups with each of the site’s shift teams.
